The Quay, Bideford. Saturday 30 October 2021

A community event organised by Way of the Wharves and using the universal language of drawing for learning, expression, and invention. Getting Bideford involved and creative by being part of the World’s Biggest Community of Drawing Enthusiasts!

Funded by donations and a grant from Heritage Lottery Fund.

The weather was kind – mostly. More sun than rain and the rain showers, though heavy were only brief. A caravan caught fire in the car park, the Oldenburg moored up at high tide and a beautiful rainbow appeared over the Torridge Bridge.

Thanks to our volunteers for help with preparations and on the day and to everyone who came to see us – Moms, Dads, supporters and of course especially the 35 people who registered and submitted a drawing. Check out their work in the drawings gallery.

A few pictures from the day . . .

What some of our artists said:

Thank you for organising such a fun, creative event. Jane

Thank you so much for putting on this event! My son Thomas and I loved it – he did even more drawing when he came home! Clare

This event wouldn’t have been possible without the promotion and support from other organisations in the community especially: office support TTVS, gazebo and equipment loan Freshspring, stewards and photography Learn Devon, photography and promotion Petroc, and everyone of you who shared our FB posts, put up posters or handed out fliers. Thank you.

Funded by a grant from Heritage Lottery Fund, prize donations from Red Earth and cleaning products and materials from Asda. Excess art materials have been donated to Action for Children to be used across their Children’s Centres in Torridge.
